Finaly the second round of the championship, Malaysia is the best opportunity for the team to forget about the disaster we made on round 1 (no drivers finishing…), let’s get on track.

Sepang circuit, overview The circuit can accommodate a total of 130,000 spectators, with 30,000 in the double-frontage Mall Grandstand, its architecture its unique, totally blends modern technology with the Malaysian culture.
The track is 5.54 kilometres long, and is noted for its sweeping corners and wide straights. The layout is quite unusual, with a very long back straight separated from the pit straight by just one very tight hairpin. Traditionally, the circuit is tough on tyres, because it requires a near-maximum downforce set-up, the Sepang Formula 1 Circuit is, without a doubt, a very challenging and demanding, but a great racing circuit.

QUALIFYING RESULTS

Absolutly great performance for the team, 3 Olympic drivers on te first 5 places! Unfortunately we didn’t get the pole but Adriano500 is 2nd, very close to him is Juan 3rd and a wonderful Zoneur is 4th. Amazing guys, specially Zoneur who is not used to be so close to the poleman, less than 0,6 sec for him.
To be mentioned also Battosai 6th then to find other drivers we have to go after the 20th position having me Walter976 21st, Nemesis 22nd and Avni Tumay 23rd.
Deep down we have Tictac 27th (what happen man?) and Ambadar 28th… last one, ladies and gentleman is Mr. Inigo Otermin 35th without time as he cannot practice but the boss is back and he will partecipate to the race!!! Welcome back mate!

RACE RESULTS

Olympic is back on track, nice result for the team, it wasn’t that difficult to improve after the terrible round 1 but we have shown that we can drive a F1 car and will fight hard for the championship.
JuanFran is 2nd demostrating again to be our fastest driver, only +2.631 sec from the winner Okan, well done mate! Zoneur is 6th and myself Walter976 7th, 3 of us on first 6 places, not bad really.
Other 2 drivers were able to finish the race, Nemesis 13th and the boss Inigo 15th, all others got a DNF (Ambadar, Adrino500, Avni) and DNS (Battosai, TicTac).
We did a good job placing 3 drivers on the first 6 positions but our rivals LRT scored also some good points, will be a nice fight with them through all the league, at the moment we are 199 points back.
Too early to start looking the drivers championsip but we got JuanFran 4th (only one race for him) and Zoneur 6th, Okan is actually leading followed by 2 LRT drivers Ricardo and Danny.

China-Shangai is the next circuit, let’s see to improve again our performances, some of us have not yet enough confidence with the car, they can only get better and better… see you on track so!

nice job team, we did very 2nd race, but still we can do better, i checked results, and lowland scored more points if i am not wrong, i hope, next time we do better job, but anyway we did awesome job, thanks everybody :)

now i will make a small report about my weeckend in malaysia:

i started to make some laps thursday, but with full tank, i thought about make an stop, as provably i was going to be slower because i didn’t practice, but i thought about make 2 stops and i edited some thinks from qualy set.

The race, was a holly shit heheh, because just at the start, i hit neela because she didnt accelerate, and i accelerate fast and i destroyed my front wing and suspension. i went box, i had to do a lap with no front wing and suspension brocked, i had to make an extra pit stop so i did 3 stops, and also more time for front wing. so i lost more than a minute. I had to make all race with suspension brocked and i was doing hotlap and i was pushing like hell i overtook kf1, patrick wartemberg avni thumay… and finally i was very tired and i did some mistakes in lasts laps because lot of time racing alone, was a bit boring, but i am happy for big work in team and also for p1 from walter, well done!

sorry for my english, i hope china be mor einteresting :)

I had no practice before I qualified so was quite content with my 3rd on the grid for heat 2. About an hour practice before the race. Inigos setup felt good and settled in to a reasonable pace, although struggling in the quicker corners a bit.

Off the grid I got a great start, taking Walter on the inside of turn one. From there I led for a few laps, although it became obvious Walter had more pace than me. I wasnt totally happy pushing in some corners and eventually made a mistake running through the gravel briefly in which Walter passed. From there Walter sped away and I had no answer.

So from then on my only focus was a clean race and keeping a gap back to veldt. the first two stints I managed this easily increasing the gap on track, but losing time in the pits, mainly because a lack of pit entry practice.

My last stint I over fuelled by mistake and when veldt came out of the pits he was only 2 seconds behind, he turned the heat on and gradually reeled me in. on the penultimate lap I made a small mistake that gave veldt a tow on me into the last corner, I defended it but we were side by side into the 1st corner of the last lap. I took the inside and slightly over cooked it letting him sweep past into the next corner(hitting me mind!).
Right on the tail of him I tried to pass in to turn 3 but made a mess of it (should of waited till the straights at end of lap, where I think I had better straight line speed)and finished 3rd.

A good race overall and except running wide twice quite consistant and happy considering my lack of practice. Just a little disapointing to let Veldt pass so late on.

small heat 2 grid was anoying as well

Wow, I did it, I managed to finish the race!

Not much time for practice and a very poor qualify (only 21st) but with the help of some team mates (mostly Zoneur, Juan and Inigo) I got a wonderful race setup with a strategy of 2 pits and medium tyres.

Heat 2 was made up of just 9 drivers (a pity really) and I started convinced to be able to win it.
After a clean T1 I was 3rd, I managed to pass quickly Veldt and after a couple of laps I took advantage of a mistake of Nemesis taking the lead. When I saw myself on P1 I just kept concentration high, the setup was wonderful so I was not scared to push, just to say that my best lap was 0,5 sec faster than my qualify.

Boring race yes but I won my heat with nearly 1 minute gap from the 2nd place, this is really satisfating me, just a couple of small mistakes, I would say a perfect race this time… exactly what I needed.

Let’s wait for the final results now, thanks to all team mates, happy to bring some points to the team!
